College celebrates students achievements
The ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) celebrated the achievements of their undergraduate students at the annual Scholarships and Prizes Awards event held in The Hall of University House last night.
The College awarded a total of 21 Scholarships and exactly 100 Prizes across its broad range of academic disciplines within the Australian Demography and Social Research Institute, the Research School of Humanities and the Arts and the Research School of Social Sciences.
“I congratulate all students who have been awarded scholarships and prizes. These outstanding scholars represent the future of our academic disciplines as well as the ANU.” says Professor Toni Makkai, Dean and Director of the College.
“We must also recognise and thank the generosity and support of our donors who have contributed to these prizes and scholarships. It is through the generosity of our donors, we hope to support these talented students achieve their dreams.” adds Professor Makkai
The scholarships and prizes awarded showcase the diversity of academic offering for undergraduate students across the College.
"It is pleasing to see the students from an array of academic areas be acknowledged and rewarded for their hard work and success. Students from such areas as History, Philosophy, Anthropology, the Languages, Music and Art and more are being recognised by their peers and also from the wider University. It reiterates what makes the ANU a unique university." says Professor Joan Beaumont, Dean of Education, CASS.
